What is the Alpha Course?

The Alpha course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, non-threatening manner over 10 thought-provoking weekly sessions. It's low key, friendly and fun. And it's supported by all the main Christian denominations.

Alpha starts with a light meal together at the beginning of each session, which gives people a chance to get to know each other.

After each talk we divide into small groups to discuss the topic of the evening, ask questions and express opinions.

Alpha is a place where no question is too simple or too hostile.

Alpha is for everyone, especially:

Quotes from the Alpha News November 2011

X-Factors Rhydian said "I would recommend Alpha to everyone, I would say to anyone thinking of doing Alpha, it's well worth doing. Give it a go."

TV journalist Nick Harper said "Somewhere at the back of my mind, was a general feeling that something was missing.... Nick said of the course "Alpha covers all the bases, all the topics...for my wife Tamsin and me it was a wholly positive experience." Nick and Tamsin now help on Alpha to help other people find faith.

Chief Superintendent Martin Walker, who runs Alpha in his local church, says "Every single time we do Alpha we see people with no faith come to meet Jesus".
