MenZone

The July meeting of MenZone has been postponed to Monday 9 August.
Our annual croquet evening has been arranged again by Robert Haskins for Monday 9 August at the Ripon Spa Hotel (map). We shall meet there at 6.30pm. Croquet (tuition available!) will be followed by sandwiches and chips overloooking the lawns. You must bring soft shoes, i.e. shoes without sharp edges. Lifts can be arranged if you let me know whose coming. We need to know ASAP numbers for sandwiches in any case. Paul Lerch

Congratulations!

To Colin and Audrey Spivey on their 40^th wedding anniversary. We thank God for their life together and pray his blessing on them and their family for the future.

Bob Greene elected to Parochial Church Council

At their last meeting the Parochial Church Council elected Bob Greene to fill the single vacancy remaining after the recent Annual Parochial Church Meeting. At the same time they also elected Bob to be a Deputy Church Warden. Bob led the successful fund raising for the repairs to the church fabric which are currently being carried out.

Susan Armstrong appointed as Electoral Roll Officer

On behalf on the Parochial Church Council, the Standing Committee have appointed Susan Armstrong to succeed Avis Liversedge as the Electoral Roll Officer. Susan, who is a member of the Parochial Church Council, will now be the contact for all matters concerning the parish electoral roll and can be contacted through the Parish Office.

Church on the Corner Coffee Morning

Our annual Coffee Morning with Raffle and Cake Stall will be held at the Church in Hallfield Lane (map) on Saturday 31^st July 10- 12 noon. Please come and support us if you can.

During August the following organisations will be holding coffee mornings on the following dates:-

Church on the Corner Outing

20 members of the congregation and 2 visitors went on the community mini bus thanks to Alan Smith our driver to Hollin House where Bishop John's wife Barbara welcomed us and showed us around the house and gardens and provided us with a lovely afternoon tea. We ended our visit with evening prayer in the Chapel. A thoroughly enjoyable time was had by all.
Church on the Corner offers a warm welcome to everyone at their services every Tuesday at 2pm. This is a short service following the traditions of St James and please join us after the service for tea, coffee and a friendly chat.

Marmalade Jars

If you have any unwanted jars that could be used for Marmalade then please either bring them to Thursday coffee morning and give them to Mary Gray or alternatively please contact Mary directly. Thank you
