The present church organ was built in 1975 by Laycock and Bannister. The instrument has two manuals and offers a clear brassy tone. In addition to its role during services the organ is also used for a number of recitals and concerts.

The Church organ was cleaned, overhauled, restored and improved in 1998, as part of the St. James "Open Door" project and a list of those who generously contributed can be seen attached to the organ.
